Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup sugar

  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher.
  3. Add the sugar, melted butter, beaten egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and mix well.
  4. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake the banana bread in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before removing it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and serve the banana bread warm, or store it in an airtight container for later.

Optional additions: You can add nuts, such as chopped walnuts or pecans, or chocolate chips to the batter before baking for added flavor and texture. You can also top the bread with a sprinkle of sugar before baking for a crunchy, sweet crust. Enjoy!
